AD CODE FULL FORM

AD Code Visakhapatnam stand for Authorised Dealer Code (AD Code), without which one cannot do customs clearance of goods at customs port. An AD Code is a 14-digit numerical code issued by the bank with which IEC Holders has a current account to do import-export business.

AD CODE LETTER FORMAT VIZAG

For AD Code Registration in Visakhapatnam, IEC Holder in exporting or Importing from Visakhapatnam Customs has to get AD Code 14-digit numerical code on bank’s letterhead, in a format prescribed by the Customs Port. A bank must deal in or be an authorised dealer of foreign currency in order to be able to grant an AD Code. This is in line with the purpose behind an AD Code, to ensure that foreign currency transactions in an exporter’s current account are from legal trade.

Visakhapatnam Customs Port Code is INVIZ. Visakhapatnam port is the largest harbour in Andhra Pradesh. It is ranked 3rd in cargo volume and is close to the ports of Chennai and Kolkata. Under the Visakapatnam Port Trust (VPT), the port currently operates 24 berths. It primarily services the hinterlands of Central and South India. The main goods include iron ore, manganese nodules, steel products, general cargo, coal, crude oil, and other petroleum derivatives.

The external dock has six berths and is the largest dock. The smaller internal dock has 18 berths capable of handling Panamax ships. The maximum anchorage draft is 17 meters across the harbours.

Despite being prone to seasonal cyclones, the port is naturally protected by surrounding low-lying hills. A nearby harbour- the Gangavaram Port- shares cargo traffic with Vizag Port.

The Indian Steel Federation, known as the RINL, has begun operations out of Vizag. The port is expanding to include coal and steel handling equipment. There are dredging operations currently underway to handle larger tonnage ships. There is also a proposal to operate a satellite port at Bhimili.

Directorate of System implemented system for filing Customs documents through Remote EDI System (RES) like Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, IGM, EGM, CGM, etc.

All Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, Shipping Lines, Airlines or their agents who are authorized to file document (BE/SB/IGM/EGM/CGM etc.) through Remote EDI System (RES) with Valid Digital Signature Certificate DSC.

ICEGATE is internally linked with multiple partner agencies including RBI, Banks, DGFT, DGCIS, Ministry of Steel, Directorate of Valuation and other various Partner Government Agencies involved in EXIM trade enabling faster Customs clearance. All electronic documents/ messages being handled by the ICEGATE are processed at the Customs' end by the Indian Customs EDI System (ICES).

Any entity registering on ICEGATE website can register with only one F-card holder / parent user even though the entity may have more than one F card holder / parent user whose name is endorsed on the Custom Broker license. All other users need to be registered as child users for the same F-card user / parent user II. The registration process keeps a check on impersonation and repudiation etc. The principal / parent user is given access at the application level with proper role mapping, enabling them to approve or to disable their child user(s)
